What and Why GPT ? GPT was initiated as a part of UEFI ; which the latest system posses.It was implemented as to avoid the MBR-Master Boot Record which nowadays system uses. You can see whether your system supports UEFI in the BIOS settings - Boot options. Mainly there will be two options like Legacy and UEFI.Suppose if you want to boot some USB /DVD drive then you have to select Legacy option. How to resolve the error " Unable to install windows 7 / 8 in GPT Drive " ? Put a Windows XP CD /DVD and boot up to the Formatting part .Then delete all the partitions and make a new one and using the format NTFS.Please don't proceed further after the formatting to the installation. Now restart and install Win 7 or 8. Why GPT? Guys, This one post will tell you how to get in to the VAIO F Series BIOS settings.Usually F series comes with win 8 inbuilt.Since the Win 8 is integrated in the system ans for the fast booting, we wont be able to get in to the BIOS by using conventional functional keys(F1-F12) and also the Del , End keys wont help.This is how you want to do it. Switch off your Laptop Press the Assist button placed at the top right corner near the power button. Wait for some seconds and you will get a menu. In that menu you will be able to select BIOS settings or Boot Settings and Backup options. Best of luck !
